Our Story

The inception of Premium Events & Design, known then as Premium Events, started off solely as an event planning company and later expanded into a multi-service boutique. When the idea was birthed, the founder, Mariama Taj had no business knowledge, limited experience in event planning and zero start-up funding. Despite having minimal resources, Mariama was not discouraged, but motivated to pursue her new found passion. 

 

On January 30th, 2014, Mariama applied for the official Master Licence for Premium Events. Shortly after, the company received its first client.

Premium Events was later commissioned to produce various events including large music festivals, art exhibitions, conferences, AGMs, and much more.

Meet the Founder

Mariama Taj

Spanning over 10 years in the industry, Mariama has planned and produced a number of events varied in size and purpose. Her broad array of expertise has allowed her to bring creativity to each project and more importantly a high level of professionalism. 

 

A Toronto native, Mariama now lives in Vancouver with her husband and two sons.
